Students were given the class period to complete revised drafts.
We discussed choosing a title based on the Essential Question and Thesis of their papers.
They were reminded to have:

• a title
• 6 body/argument paragraphs that follow the format (a total of 8 including introduction and conclusion)
• NO TIRED WORDS
• NO contractions
• NO "I"s
• underlined/italicized titles of the books Antigone, The Greatest, Warriors Don't Cry, The Black Panthers Speak, An Apology

Transitions

In time for revisions, students learned about how to use transitions to make their writing more fluid. We looked at a sample essay and identified the transitions used and why they were there.
